Hi, i’m sofa king. Hope everyone is having a great day! I am just going to take a second out of my fun filled day to explain the origins of 420. Although many diverse theories exist to explain the origin of the term, the central root of the phrase came from a group of teenagers at a high school in San Rafael, California in 1971. The teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. for recreational activities. The term became part of the groups solute and was popularized by fans of The Grateful Dead. By extension April 20 (4/20) evolved into a counterculture holiday.
